On the day of Monday (1392/8/13), His Excellency Ayatollah Hashemi Shahrudi met with the Iraq oil minister, Mr. Abdu Al-Karim e La'eebi, and the staffs who were along with him. In this meeting, they talked about the present condition of Iraq. During the meeting, His Excellency Ayatollah Hashemi Shahrudi emphasized the necessity for offering a comprehensive service to the people and providing them with the necessities for a suitable life especially for the poor and underprivileged people.

Also His highness put stress on the necessity for some further activities in the field of energy, particularly in oil, and utilizing the technical specialists who are expert in present-day technology for creating thepetrochemical products and the goods obtain through oil, and regarded the implementation of these activities as an important factor ineconomic growth and the creation of employment along with the promotion of the technical proficiency level and an increase in the competent and skillful staffs.

In another part of his speech, he recommended the whole sects and political parties of Iraq for making every endeavour to prosper the country and creating the foundations and substructures which are a real service to Iraq and lead to the development and progression of this country in evey aspects. His Highness believed that these affairs can only be carried on through putting aside theexisting dissensions and disagreements so that such discords will not impede the growth and development of the country and aslo wouldn't have any bad effects on the programs and the fundamental policies towards the prosperity of the country. His Highnes said: "the difference of opinions and viewpoints within the thoughts and approachs of political parties is very common that exist in most of the countries and never leads to the reduction of the growth and prosperity's speed. 

In this meeting, Mr. Abdu Al-Karim e La'eebi gave a summary of the decisions and the activities that have been done in the Iraq oil ministry for reconstructing and expanding the oilrefineries of Iraq which had some deficiencies and were closed at the time of present system, and talked about the oil seeking operations and the excavations being done for finding some new wells for achieving more energy.

At the end of this meeting, the Iraq oil minister expressed his satisfaction with this meeting and appreciate the valuable recommendations and guidelines of His Excellency Ayatollah Hashemi Shahrudi which were made for the expedient of the nation and the country of Iraq.
