Title : Has the Divine Missionary Terminated ?

What : The Qur’an-based Research Abstract

To : All Muslims and Islam Researchers

For : Awareness of Muslims
&
Approach of Divine Religions

In the Name of God (Allah)
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Preface : My purpose of sending this letter to you and other knowledgeable people and institutes over the world is to receive your feedback to emend any possible error in my book before its publication. I have tried to find the Quran-based answer, far from prejudice, to the question below:
May the human messengers still be sent from God (Allah) in the future ( after Muhammad PBUH)?
In addition to our better familiarisation with the holy Qur’an and the Missionary principal in Islam, I think it is also a very important issue for the divine religions approach. I expect you showing an amicable mind not a pliant nor a stiff one so that you can rectify and overturn your understanding of the verses (33-40) and (35-7).
This letter is a laconic abstract of my expatiated book written in Persian which is the result of about two years of my research. Also I beg your attention that I am a Muslim wishing the Unity of Sunnis and Shi’as and I do believe that it is an achievable goal if our scholars (ulamaa), clergymen, professors, teachers, reporters (muhaddithin), commentators (mufassirin), reciters (qurra), students, members of forums, speakers of gatherings and the caring thinkers want it, just like Sheikh Mahmud Shaltut and Seyyed Hossein Borujerdi. ((3))
We know that if a report is against Qur’an we must not believe it, and I know that there is a famous prophetic report ( حدیث) about termination of divine prophecy but I don’t know any reliable one about ending of divine missionary.((4))
Furthermore, we know that if somebody wants to accept Islam as his religion he/she must say two sentences below:
\" اشهد ان لا اله الّا اللّه \" (Ash’hadu an la ilaha ill_Allah) and
\" اشهد انّ محمّدا رسول اللّه \" (Ash’hadu anna Muhammadan rasoul_Ullah) that mean: “I testify that there is no deity [worthy of worship] except God (Allah),” and “ I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God (Allah)”.
So, my question is related to the second testimony.
If our answer, after this important research, is yes to the above question and a messenger really raises from God in our lifetime, we will not say that he/she is a liar, nor avoiding of him/her before investigation, besides we will try first to know him/her and then obey him/her. But if our answer is no after adequate studies, our advantage is that we are more familiar with the Qur’an, which is very necessary and useful for us as the Muslims.

My suggestion : At the beginning, I draw your attention to the verses (11 to 51 – 7) of chapter alA’araaf (الاعراف), please read them carefully with their meanings and their commentary (تفسیر) in your native language. Then, I suggest referring to note ((1)).
If you still have not found the answer, or you believe, as I had read and believed like an imitator, that the missionary (رسالت) has been ended with ending of prophecy (نبوّت) according to the verse (33-40):
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّـهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَكَانَ اللَّـهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets and ever is God (Allah), of all things, Knowing.
please do the following tasks:
First – Zoom on the meaning of verses (34 & 35 – 7), and the key words like Messenger (رسول), Prophet (نبیّ), khaatam خاتَم, khaatim خاتِم, امّة ، بنی آدم ، امّا and یأتیّنّکم in Arabic language and in the commentary of Qur’an(تفسیرالقران).
Second - Search the following words, the divine men and women names, in the Qur’an by connecting to a website (for example Tanzil.net ) : Adam, David, Idrees, Isaac, Elisha, Job, Zechariah, Solomon, John, Ahmad, Shu’ayb, Salih, Messiah, Hud, Ishmael, Elias, Jesus, Lot, Muhammad, Moses, Noah, Aaron, Joseph, Jonah, Abraham, Jacob, Dhul-Kifl, Loqman, Moses’ mother and Mary.
And note to the Title of each one to find if he is a Messenger , a Prophet, both or none of them. ((2))
Third - You will certainly find some differences between the application of messenger and prophet (رسول و نبی (in the Qur’an by searching the following groups of words and phrases with نبی and رسول / رسل :
Group 1 :
You’ll find that the elements of group one have not been associated with the word prophet (نبیّ) and the group two with the word messenger رسول or their cognates in any verse.
The phrases like یا ایّها النّبی قل \" \" and\" \" یا ایّها الرّسول بلّغ have used only three and one-time respectively. Besides, the phrase of “ the messenger of God” “رسول اللّه “ exists but “ the prophet of God” ” نبیّ اللّه”does not. Also you can see that the phrases \"رسولا نبیّا “ and “\" رسوله النّبی” exist in the Qur’an, it means that every messenger is not a prophet, therefore if a prophet does not come anymore, it is not the reason for not coming any messenger too, in other words these two titles are obviously different from each other.
Fourth - If you think that only those who have graduated from seminaries have the right to comment on this important issue,
I’d invite you to read the book of “ The Logic of understanding the Qur\'an” written by Dr. Mahmood Rajabi ) محمود رجبی) printed by the management center of Qom Seminary press.
Fifth - You can also find that: the cognates of the word last “آخر “ (akhir) are used in 33 verses for more than 33 times, but none of them is related to the Missionary \"رسالت\" nor Prophecy نبوّت\" \".
And there are forty-eight (48) verses in the Qur’an which have the word revelation “ \" وحیor its cognates, but in any of them there is no mention of the interruption or termination of revelation appeared. And you may continue to read:
The verses (75 – 22), (15 & 16 – 17) and (15 – 40) with attention to the time of the verbs chooses, intend, command and places:
اللَّـهُ يَصْطَفِي مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ رُ‌سُلًا وَمِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ
Allah chooses from the angels messengers and from the people. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing.
Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger (15) . And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with [complete] destruction (16).
[He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the inspiration of His command upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting.

Notes:
((1)) - I\'ve divided them into four following categories:
a) The verses (11 to 28 - 7) are related to the past time, i.e. before the start of the mission of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH,
b) The verses (29 to 33 – 7) to his lifetime, i.e. 23 years of the missionary-prophecy of Muhammad PBUH.
c) The verses (34 to 36 – 7) to the time after his death that they include our time too.
d) And finally the verses (37 to 51 -7) relate to the afterlife or the Day of Judgement, (a future that no one can predict its happening time).
((2)) - What I\'ve found is, Adam and David “آدم و داوود “ have been called as Allah’s caliph , Idrees, Isaac, Elisha, Job, David, Zechariah, Solomon and John \"ادریس، اسحاق، الیسع، ایّوب، داوود، زکریّا، سلیمان، و یحیی\" called as prophet, Shu’ayb, Salih, and Hud called as messenger, Ishmael, Elias, Jesus (Messiah), Lot, Muhammad (Ahmad), Moses, Noah, Aaron, Joseph, Jonah, Abraham and Jacob called both. Moses’ mother , Dhul-Kifl, Luqman and Mary have no title.
((3)) – Efforts toward Islamic unity by:
Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltut (23 April 1893 - 13 December 1963) was a prominent Egyptian Sunni religious scholar and Islamic theologian best known for his work in Islamic reform. A disciple of Mohammad Abduh’s school of thought, Shaltut rose to prominence as Grand Imam of Al-Azhar during the Nasser years from 1958 until his death in 1963.

Seyyed Hossein Borujerdi (23 March 1875-30 March 1961) (Persian: آیت الله العظمی سید حسین طباطبایی بروجردی‎) was a Shia Marja\' and the leading Marja in Iran from roughly 1947 to his death in 1961.He was the first Marja’a (مرجع ) to look beyond Iraq and Iran. He sent Sayyid Muhaqqiqi to Hamburg, Germany, Aqa-e-Shari\'at to Karachi, Pakistan, Al-Faqihi to Medina and Musa al-Sadr to Lebanon. He also established cordial relations with Mahmud Shaltut, the grand Shaykh of al-Az’har Mosque. Together, the two scholars established the \"House for Bringing Muslim Sects Nearer\" in Cairo. Shaltut issued a famous fatwa accepting the Shi\'a faith as one of the recognised sects of Islam.
